By far my favorite Mom and Pop in town. Sharon is always there and very friendly! The wait staff is ALWAYS good. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal there. I suggest getting the country fried steak and eggs, the gravy is almost as good as my Mom's. I also get the travelers special- I add jalapeno's to mine when I want that kick. Best scone in town-it huge and it will fill you!

My husband and I love looking for little nook places, they usually have the best food. I fell in love with this place immediately. It's a very small diner but I kinda dug that about it. The biscuits and gravy is FANTASTIC. My hubby got the steak and eggs and really enjoyed it too. The service was friendly and fast and the prices were more than fair. Very friendly service and great food, can't ask for much more than that!

Good food, good prices and big servings. I usually order lunch here and none of the sandwiches have ever disappointed. The veggie sandwich is my favorite. The fries are delicious too. Breakfast is what most people seem to order and everyone I have gone with has loved their breakfast.

Can't beat the breakfast. Tasty, inexpensive, and great service.

I felt moved to write this because of the 4.5 rating that encouraged us to try this place. I will say the people are nice and they obviously have a local following, but its dingy, the food is poor to mediocre and it is an overall depressing experience. The coffee is some of the worst I can remember. The pancake syrup is presented in worn out old supermarket bottles with the labels wearing off, and God knows what it actually consists of - it doesn't even taste like fake maple syrup. And that pretty much sums up our breakfast there. Giving two stars only because the staff are friendly.

I have a wonderful philosophy about food... you should be able to mix it all together and it should still taste good. Indian food is the perfect example. In a close second place is breakfast food. I haven't been to Sharon's in a few years so I went down there this morning and forgot how good it was. My chicken fried steak, eggs and potato mash (thats right, i mixed it all into one lovely heart attack) was very good. At only $7 bucks, I was quite happy. The staff is always nice and it's usually a short or no wait. Great place.

Delicious food, fast service, and an extremely friendly staff. What more could you ask for? (Go ahead, get a scone.... You deserve it!)

Extremely mediocre. I stood awkwardly at the front for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally had to go find a server and ask for a table. It took about 5 minutes to even get a menu. The food was very mediocre. It wasn't bad, but not that good either. The service was mediocre. Was told I could get a cinnamon roll instead of toast, but I was still charged for it. When I paid, the cashier was very short and curt with me. All in all, not bad, but I don't need to revisit this restaurant.

Can't talk about food quality across the board, but from what I got today I wouldn't hazard another try. The country fried steak is just nasty; the worst quality frozen patties cooked in advance, kept in a heatpan then just tonged over to a plate when ordered. Please, PLEASE fry these things to order. It involves all of dropping it in oil for four minutes. It's already easy, huge red flag trying to cut corners there. Tough, congealed, sorta warm meat thing in your mouth. The sausage gravy is cheap commercial product; bland, plasticy and smooth like yogurt in a tube. The rest was along the same lines. The sense I got was of a kitchen pushing too hard to cut corners and reduce food cost. Service is good but can come with a little attitude. Coffee is ok, and refills come quick. This place is a haunt frequented by regulars, so obviously there's value here, but from this experience I'd suggest steering clear.

There is no hostess or list to be seated. So when they are crowded and people are stacked up at the door, you need to keep track of who was there before you, and seat yourself when it's your turn and the next table comes available. A little awkward if you don't know the deal (we didn't!!) We eventually figured it out and sat at a covered table on the quiet patio with a great view of the mountains. Inside was a typical loud greasy spoon diner, with a long counter and sticky looking tables. Outside on the (smallish) patio was a different atmosphere altogether. It felt more like a neighborhood bistro patio and was perfect for a warm sunny morning. The food we had was slightly better than average, coffee was hot and the service was prompt. I probably wouldn't return here just for the food, but the ambiance out on the patio would definitely bring me back on the right type of morning.

I wanted to love this place because it's close to home, and the deck is so nice. Service was ok, food was ok. Not very impressed with either of those. Be sure to watch the order of the line when you come in - there is no hostess and the restaurant staff does NOT keep track of the order either. People who come in behind you would seat before you if you don't say anything. You seat yourself if you see a spot open up. If you want to seat outside, just stand by the patio door until it opens up - don't line up at the main door. It's a bit of a chaos but the regulars seem to be ok with it. Doesn't really work for people who come in the first time! It definitely gives you a bad first impression about the organization of the place. Parking can be tight. Also, they ran out of scones! We were there at 11am. I don't think we'll be back :(

Service was great the moment I walked in. Our order was taken quickly and the food came fairly quickly. Taste was good, not over the top but similar to most breakfast places. We ordered biscuits and gravy, pancakes and a potato/egg plate. Traditional, nothin too fancy. The egg plate needed some salsa or something to liven t up. If you like classic breakfast and decent prices swing over here. I think I'll be back!

Sharon is a real person and yes, she's pretty great! The realness of this Cafe follows even greater suit... I stopped in for a late breakfast. You get the classic American diner vibe, but what makes it four-star worthy are the friendly people and pretty good food. I ordered the French Toast combo which didn't take very long to be made as I sat at the bar-ish area of the restaurant. That gives you a first-hand view of everything that's happening in Sharon's front lines. Cooks, silverware, butter (lots), toast, drinks, coffee (which they made sure to refill promptly and throughout), and the staff which is having a good time with what they do, given by all the regulars being rung up and stopping by to say "Hello". They treat their customers right, which sadly, is kind of a rarity in some of these eateries East of Highland. Tucked away in this quiet, pretty part of Holladay, I can't help but gush about what a nice experience I had and how I will stop by again some time.

Overall, after repeated visits, this is my favorite breakfast spot. Do they do everything fantastically? No, but even when they miss, they still hit pretty close and consistency is a big deal. This place has awesome staff and a certain je ne sais quoi about it, that intangible that is both an excellent atmosphere, good meal and a great visit. I've eaten several breakfast items here and most of them range from good to great. Reading my other reviews, a place that serves Lipton should not ever be getting 5 stars from me, but this place has been a repeated marvel. Everything in my previous review still applies...

Visited SLC & Park City recently on a ski trip, and had the best breakfast of my stay at Sharon's Cafe. I ordered the ham steak & eggs special, a steal at $8.95. Why a steal? The serving of ham steak was ENORMOUS! You know how you can buy a slice of ham steak at the grocery store, and serve, like, 4 people dinner from it? That's how big the serving was - it was the entire steak! Not only that, but it was also perfectly cooked: lightly browned on the outside, still juicy and flavorful. My eggs were also cooked perfectly to order, and my hash browns were nicely crisped on the outside. My friend enjoyed his bacon (thick, crisp, meaty slices) and French toast. Service was very good: fast, friendly, very attentive - ideal diner-style service.

I had an egg skillet with potatos. The food was decent, i wish it had more flavor. I was confused walking in, you just choose a table and sit down. I was also confused were I paid the bill. Aside from those items the enviroment is filled with older people and it has the timeless diner fill. The food is decently priced. I'd recommend coming atleast once.

More like 3.5 stars. First the bad. I hate how the bill isnt itemized and always wonder how 2 breakfasts under $7 and 2 cups of coffee can equal $24. Kinda bad business even tho its mom and pop, dont rip your customers off. Place is dirty. Told the server there was ketchup all under the table and she just ignored us. Service is moody. Sometimes its good and nice and then sometimes its short and forgetful. Now the good. Food is fresh and plentiful. Greasy spoon for sure and great value for the price depending if you are being charged the correct amount.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon, no hostess so you have to find your own table. Little crowded but we found a spot fairly easy. Inside is a cluster of decor, tables and booths with no consistency, a real hole in the wall in my opinion but not bad. Service was quick, and waitress was very nice. I ordered the smothered breakfast burrito, large portion, but rather lackluster in flavor. My GF ordered the chicken fried steak with sweet potatoe home fries and a biscuit. The chicken was very dry, tasteless and disappointing. The sweet potatoe fries however were delicious and this is the only place I'd ever seen them on a menu, must try! Luckily the biscuits made up for the rest, home made, fresh and pretty big, put some gravy on those and you're set. Overall, 3 stars. Good service, good price, but food wasn't anything to rave over.

Based on the reviews, we decided to try this place out. Went at lunch on a Saturday. We were the only patrons under 70. Despite having as many staff as patrons, the service was rather slow and lackadaisical. Our server wouldn't even look at us when she talked to us. The decor on the inside is pretty dated and worn. I love breakfast foods. Love going out for breakfast. But I won't come back to Sharon's Cafe. The pancakes weren't bad, good flavor and fluffy. The breakfast potatoes were odd and undercooked. The bacon overcooked and fatty. But the huevos rancheros were awful. The refried beans were straight out of the can. The salsa it was swimming in was straight out of the jar. Nothing good there. And the sweet potato breakfast potatoes were sad. Not much in the way of flavor. With so many great breakfast places in town, I'll never go back to this one.

Place is great! It's cheap and delicious. Id take this over IHOP any day. The little cafe is adorable with an old fashion theme. The service is friendly and fast. Love it!

No one to seat you and no sign. Had the Greek, it was just mediocre, eggs were cooked well... would have gotten the potatoes crispy in hindsight; couldn't even eat the pancakes or biscuits and gravy... Both not good! Reminds me of the Belgian they give you tons of mediocre food. Won't return.

Good burgers and breakfast! It's a little cafe that I've driven by several times. Hadn't gone in until a couple of weeks ago. We've been back twice! Really good comfort food!

Every time I go to Sharons it's always been a great experience. The servers are fabulous and extremely nice they treat you like family! Its a seat yourself deal so find your own spot and you will be served. The food is what you expect....diner food which is not bad either. They are very affordable and I woll be going back again!

I was really happy with this breakfast. I FINALLY GOT EGGS OVER EASY!!!!! Hooray! Truly perfectly cooked eggs over easy. Goddamnit I was feeling a bit concerned that I never would have them in Utah. Decor is creepy. Just the way I like it. The service was fantastic. We had no problem finding a booth even though it was busy. And the whole meal was 24$ with tip. I had The Greek Way with sweet potatoes. It was a revelation in typical breakfast fare. I've never had sweet potatoes when it wasn't thanksgiving so I was apprehensive and quite nervous to try them with a traditional savory preparation. Spot on. My husband tried one plain potato cube and instantly disliked it. (Captain picky) I forced him to try it again with cheese, ketchup and egg. Surprise surprise after a short pause he said "ok you're right that's very good." HAH! I'm right you're wrong. Nanny nanny boo boo, stick your head in DOO doo. Toast was actually toasted (another gripe of mine is under toasted bread). There was an abundance of grape jelly, none of that mixed berry ca ca most places have. The bottles were clean. No sticky ketchup or honey. My husband had the smothered breakfast burrito and it was the closest to a Denver smothered burrito as I have gotten in Utah. Just needed some heat. The bacon was amaz-balls. Husband stole a piece I was saving for later. Bastard... We went for a scone, because why not have a side of gluten with your carbs? It was pretty fantabulous with the butter and honey. Oh I'll be back. And I'll bring friends. Nap time!!!

I went with friends for Sunday lunch. It wasn't too crowded (we found a seat in just a couple minutes). They have a bunch of cool and funny old signs on the walls (up by the ceilings). Had a Route 66 diner feel to it. Food was good, waitress was friendly and helpful. Price was nice. I'd go back again.

I have no idea how the food was... Because we stood at the door waiting to be seated for 10 minutes with not one person acknowledging us. They were busy, but not packed. A waitress walked by us 3 times and never said a word. There were several employees seen, not one said anything or even gave a wave. If the service was that bad in the beginning, I can't even imagine how bad it would have been if we stayed. We didn't.

Very good experience, happy faces, friendly people, and the best part....good food! Ordered the Spanish omelette with potatoes, mushrooms, and one pancake....yes...I left full and satisfied lol. Worst part? The biscuit was a little to soft....hard to get butter inside lol.

I don't get why people like it. The food was ok. The service was ok. It's a dive but there's better dives with amazing food and better service.

After waitressing since I was 14 I HATE eating out, but these ladies are great. They're fast, know their menu, and are super friendly (feels like I'm at home). Would definitely come back again.

Oh Sharon's. I love this place. The decor is sort of dingy, the booths are weirdly shorter than the benches and the tables and chairs are from the TGI Fridays that closed down the block ... But this place serves comfort food and it always hits the spot. My husband and I both always order the skillet (I add feta) and it's amazing every, single time. The breakfast potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned and the eggs are always spot on as well. We get our daughter the pancakes...light and fluffy. They make a great burger and patty melt as well. The waitresses are just the nicest and they keep your diet coke icy and always full. If you are looking for that comfy, home-cooked feel, type meal then go to Sharon's.

A nice local restaurant that is exactly what it tries to be. It's nothing too fancy, the food is consistently pretty good. Servers and staff are attentive and friendly. It's not going to blow you away, but it is consistent, close by, and a local business that you should be happy to support.

  • Travis B.

The food is your standard diner fare but the service is among the friendliest I have had in Utah. I had the standard eggs and bacon, and oh my the bacon was thick and perfect. They also have a dish they call the "Greek Special", that one scares me a bit. I am afraid it is really hard to get into but once I do I will really, REALLY like it. They bring it out and give it to you from behind.

I don't know what to say. It was okay and I think there is a lot of these types of restaurants in SLC. I need a place the serves real butter with my pancakes and I got Country Crook Margarine.

I live close to Sharon's and eat there a couple of times a week. Recently had the corned beef hash which is made from scratch. Love that. I typically order eggs, bacon and 1 slice of toast, but today I had the spinach and feta omlette. Love that too. The staff is friendly and sitting at the bar is always fun, often you'll see regulars like Caroline and Dave hanging out. Kelly is a great waitress and I love seeing Sharon there as well. Great local joint with a very local vibe. Get there early on Saturday and Sunday, or come before work for a more mellow crowd than the weekend. Good coffee for a cafe as well.

Eggs Benedict great. Nice lemon coming through. Shredded hash browns crispy the way I like. Noisy. Servers incredibly efficient. Reasonable prices. Biscuits excellent.

What a delicious and fun place to eat! Everyone was friendly and the food was really good and at a good price. Loved the decor and the patrons were as down home as the owner. Would definitely eat here again and not just cuz I'm a Sharon too!

Don't know how we've missed this place but today was first time for us. Neutral color building on Murray Holliday rd. Good was delicious!!! Great prices! Sweet potato home fries as an option with breakfast! Fabulous! Real casual inside, great weekend breakfast place.

I don't get what people think is so great about this place. It's mediocre at best. Its just like any other breakfast cafe in Utah you can get the same stuff it and is cafe at the Olympus cafe there's nothing different or unique about Sharon's cafe unless you consider griny dingy miss mosh pit tables and chairs. I got the eggs benedict with the shredded potatoes I asked him to be cooked crunchy they did an excellent job with that however the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was from McCormick's hollandaise sauce packets that you can make it home it didn't taste homemade. My husband and I tried something diffrent. We usually go to the lazy day cafe in Mill Creek I know why we continue to go to the lazy day cafe because they have something unique and different every weekend for their specials and their breakfast menu is one to die for they have different flares for everything and everything is definitely homemade. If I wanted Country Crock I'd go to the store and buy it myself but I prefer to have real butter and good food that I don't have to cook myself honestly I could do better than Sharon's cafe

Another one of my favorite breakfast places in the city. Amazing scones and cinnamon rolls (they are huge!) Their bacon is also fantastic and there is always great service. Sharons is a locals favorite. I definitely recommend their breakfast over lunch. If you are having lunch, their burger is the best option.

The service and hospitality is not great, but it's not terrible either. They do keep your beverage full, which is a definite bonus point. This is your typical greasy diner type restaurant and as such, is right on par with the quality of food you'd expect to receive at a place like this. It's a step up from places like Denny's and IHOP and International House of Pancakes. My personal favorite thing here (and the thing that keeps me coming back) are the pancakes... they are to die for. They're doughy and thick and delicious. I can't recall having a better pancake anywhere else. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered real syrup instead of fake "Log Cabin" syrup. I'd pay a little extra to have that option. Overall, this place is decent and worth checking out.

Seat yourself ... At first, the server just slapped the menus down without saying good morning or hello ... I guess she was really busy. I ordered the spinach feta cheese scrambler and it was delicious. Husband ordered the spicy Italian sausage with medium poached eggs. Eggs were poached easy and the hash browns were not crispy on both dishes. I always forget to order crispy because some restaurants automatically make them that way. My bad. Served which your choice of toast or homemade biscuit. I chose the biscuit and it was big and everything a biscuit should be. Other than the eggs, no complaints on the food, coffee refills or the service. Didn't really mind being called baby, sweetie or babe. I'm guessing the server calls everyone that. Although there was a bus girl cleaning the tables, they seriously need to scrub those tables at least once a week - tops and sides. All 4 sides of our table was sticky to the touch. I couldn't sit up to my table because I didn't want to get whatever was on that table on my blouse. Bottom line is - I would go back to Sharon's, sticky tables and all, any day rather than go to IHOP or Denny's.

Sharon's has a special place in my heart! It was opened in 2003 by a friends Aunt, a one Sharon Prescott. From it's beginning Sharon's has had it's finger on the pulse of it's small surrounding community. I remember when they first opened they had football helmets in the window ledges, and for the right price you could pick one up if you felt so inclined. It was such a relaxed, and cozy feeling while in Sharon's, and it really felt like an honest home cooked meal. Served to you by the owner herself. Need a refill on your warm cup of joe, whose there to fill it, Sharon herself. Since it's opening there have been a few changes here and there, they have now picked up the old signs look, and decorated with a little bit of, what would feel like an old diner feel. One thing that hasn't changed with Sharon's is the wonderful and amazingly well cooked home-style food you receive. The quality, and consistency with Sharon's is always top notch. From the most simple eggs and home-style potatoes (which are amazing) to the more complex "Greek" an amazing marinated pork tenderloin & eggs with feta and fresh tomato, this place nails everything from your favorite breakfast to the most mouth watering burgers in the area. If you have not taken the time to relish this little Holiday jewel please go out of your way to treat yourself to an amazing little morsel I lovingly hold dear to my heart. Oh I almost forgot, there's one other addition to Sharon's that I absolutely love. Now some may find this a little odd, but again to me it's a treasure each time I walk in. Sharon picked up the table from the Cottonwood TGI Friday's that is no longer around. I worked at that very location for 8 years, and to see those stripped table upon entering that little diner puts a smile on my face! P.S. When you walk in tell Sharon hi, and look to one of the booths. If you see a gentleman sitting there with white yelp sunglasses, yelp life gloves, and numerous yelp pins, say hi to him too, IT"S ME! See you there!

I like the fact that Sharon nabbed the tables from TGI Friday's, (as pointed out by other reviewers) I like the element of obscurity. I also like the bulletin board up front with events, etc on it. Sharon's doesn't try to be "hip" or "vogue" as I think many breakfast places do. The mentality is very "it is what it is" and either you like these kinds of breakfast places or you don't. The food is great. I feel like the more obscene the place, the better the food. Same goes for another breakfast staple of mine Big Ed's. Sharon's kind of reminds me of big ed's in the sense that it has that grime luring in the background. Sharon's food is absolutely delicious. I like the fact that the menu isn't too broad, too adventurous. The menu has traditional breakfast items that you can tell Sharon takes pride in, because of every dish I've had, each one has breached or accomplished perfection. Even if you opt to go the burger route, you're still going to be satisfied. On my most recent visit I did the Greek Omelette. It was perfect. Even though I would have preferred they put the feta cheese in, instead of on top, of the omelette it was still outstanding. My partner ordered the French Toast which I tried and it was rainbows and butterflies. Very sweet. Sharon's is THE place I go for breakfast now. Great food, Fantastic Service (minus one), affordable prices, quirky atmosphere.
